About: Luciana Monteiro-Krebs: PhD in Social Sciences from KU Leuven (Leuven, Belgium) and PhD in Communication and Information from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (Porto Alegre, Brazil). Luciana has a master's degree in Applied Linguistics and a bachelor's degree in Library Science, having been a visiting student at the University of Porto (Portugal) in 2010/2011. Currently Luciana works as Data Curator in the international project The Global Health Network, at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz) Hub (https://fiocruz.tghn.org/). Previously, at the Meaningful Interactions Lab - Mintlab (KU Leuven), Luciana worked on research projects in Human-Computer Interaction, such as the Algorithmic Mediation in Academic Social Systems (AMASS) and the Algorithmic Transparency & Accountability in Practice (ATAP), researching the effects of media recommendation algorithms from a user-centered approach. Topics of interest include data science, open research data, recommendation algorithms, scientific communication, gamification, usage patterns in online social media, folksonomies, ontologies, log analysis, information retrieval, and legal and healthcare terminology.
