About: I'm Yeliz Çakır-Koçak from Türkiye. Yeliz has worked at the Department of Midwifery at Bartın University Faculty of Health Sciences since January 2022. She is a member of the Bartın University Senate, the Quality Coordinatorship Vice Coordinator and a member of the University's strategic plan studies team. She worked as a Midwifery Research Assistant at the Midwifery Department at Ege University Faculty of Health Sciences between 2006 and 2022 (with PhD between 2017 and 2022). She is also a classic massage therapist and a pre-perinatal massage therapist. She worked as a midwife in Ege University's Emergency Department for two years after completing her undergraduate education at Ankara University in 2004. She completed her master's in Midwifery at Ege University in 2007. She did her master's thesis on “the effect of prenatal midwife training given to will-be first-time mothers and their partners in their homes on their anxiety levels”. She finished her doctorate in 2017 at the Department of Women's Health and Diseases Nursing at Ege University. Likewise, she studied for her PhD thesis on the maternal and fetal effects of whole-body pregnancy massage. She has done many multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary national and international academic studies, written book chapters, and done academic and social responsibility projects as a coordinator and a researcher. At the same time, she continues to fulfill her role as a national and international reviewer. Her academic studies subjects are midwifery education, pre-perinatal massage therapy, culture, women's health, women's studies, gender equality, violence to women by men and occupational organizations in midwifery. She provided academic and field services as a midwife with the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK) 1002-C project in the districts of Elbistan and Afşin in the third week after the Kahramanmaraş Earthquake, which was defined as the 'Disaster of the Century' in February 2023. She is a founding board member of the Association for Education, Research and Development in Midwifery (AERDM). She is also a member of AERDM, the Midwives Association of Türkiye, the Anatolia Midwifery Association, and the Midwifery Education Programs Evaluation and Accreditation Association. She is married and a mother of two kids and a cat.
